Publisher Mythwright and developer Spooky Rabbits have unveiled Model Kit Studio, a relaxing simulation game centered around the art of building and customizing mecha model kits. The game is scheduled to launch on Steam in 2027, with its first public playtest available now for players eager to get hands-on with the experience.

Players will cut, file, assemble, and customize individual pieces while creating a growing collection of detailed mechanical creations.

The game aims to capture the relaxing and rewarding nature of model building, allowing players to settle into a creative flow as they carefully craft each mecha. Once assembled, models can be personalized with a variety of paints, decals, and finishing touches, giving every creation a unique look.

Customization is a major focus of the experience. Players can apply paint using traditional brushes or airbrush tools and decorate their models with decals to add extra detail. The extensive customization options encourage builders to experiment with different color schemes and styles while expanding their collection over time.

Beyond the workshop, Model Kit Studio also includes a dedicated photo studio where completed models can be posed and displayed. Players can create detailed dioramas, capture their favorite builds, and share their creations with the game’s community. The feature also allows builders to browse and gather inspiration from the designs of other players.
