Brocap Studio, a three-person independent development team based in Brno, has announced that its upcoming adventure game Hubert has taken home the Best Game award at Game Access Conference 2026. The honor was determined entirely by votes from festival attendees, marking a major achievement for the charming indie title ahead of its release.
The studio also revealed that Hubert has already surpassed 30,000 wishlists on Steam, demonstrating strong interest from players eager to follow the lovable shepherd dog’s journey. Those interested in trying the game early can download a free demo on Steam now.

In Hubert, players step into the paws of an energetic and overly confident shepherd dog who experiences the world through instinct, scent, movement, and endless curiosity. Accompanying him is Lily, a clever young girl who manages to convince a notoriously grumpy farmer to hire the duo for a seemingly simple task: herding sheep across the countryside.

Of course, things don’t go quite as planned. The sheep are unpredictable, easily distracted, and rarely cooperative, creating plenty of challenges for Hubert and Lily as they work to keep the flock under control. Adding to the pressure is a farmer whose patience wears thin quickly.

While much of the adventure begins on the farm, the story eventually leads players into the mysterious northern wilderness. Beyond the familiar fields lies a quieter and stranger world where Hubert senses something calling to him. Whatever awaits in the unknown seems connected to him in ways even he doesn’t fully understand.

Combining lighthearted humor with themes of friendship, courage, and discovery, Hubert delivers a heartwarming adventure filled with mischievous sheep, memorable characters, and a canine hero who firmly believes he’s the star of the story.
