Independent developer Horsemen Four Productions has officially revealed The Void, a challenging wave-based survival horror first-person shooter that takes clear inspiration from classic genre staples. Blending intense action with a heavy atmosphere, the game pulls thematic cues from the film The Mist and elements of spiritual theology to create a bleak fight for survival.

In The Void, players are trapped inside a hostile environment and forced to confront relentless waves of nightmarish creatures. Survival isn’t simply about firing blindly into the darkness. Instead, the game focuses on precision, awareness, and careful resource management as players attempt to outlast the horrors emerging from the unknown.

The project is being developed by Jeffy Zachariah and is described as a love letter to the classic survival horror experiences that helped define the genre. Modern gameplay conveniences have been intentionally stripped away. Players are given just a single weapon to rely on, and resource spawns are limited, forcing every decision to matter.

The gameplay philosophy evokes the intense, high-pressure style of Devil Daggers, combined with the slower, more methodical tension of traditional survival horror. Quick reflexes, careful planning, and calculated risks are essential as the threat level steadily rises.

With its minimalist approach and unforgiving design, The Void aims to capture the raw intensity that made early survival horror games so memorable.

Survive the Void. Find absolution.
