Kaosrio has announced that Ricochet Raven, a frantic side-scrolling roguelike built around projectile deflection, will launch in Early Access on April 21.

Rather than relying on traditional weapons, the game’s combat system is built entirely around parries. Players must deflect enemy projectiles back toward their attackers, turning every incoming shot into an opportunity for offense. Timing and positioning are key, as a well-placed deflection can trigger chain reactions of ricocheting projectiles that fill the screen with colorful chaos.

Movement plays just as big a role as combat. Players can link together dashes and mid-air deflections to stay airborne, bounce between enemies, and weave through attacks while building devastating combos. The more powerful the deflection, the greater the resulting destruction, rewarding players who master the rhythm of its high-speed encounters.

Throughout each run, players can unlock feather upgrades that expand their abilities and shape their playstyle. Like many roguelikes, no two runs unfold the same way, encouraging experimentation with different upgrade combinations and strategies.

The Early Access version of Ricochet Raven launches with seven enemy types, a single environment to explore, one boss battle, and 20 feather upgrades to unlock. Kaosrio plans to expand the game over time with additional environments, more boss encounters, new feathers, and special zones designed to introduce unexpected twists to the core gameplay loop.

If the idea of turning enemy attacks into your primary weapon sounds appealing, Ricochet Raven might be one to keep on your radar as it begins its Early Access journey.
