A new narrative-driven game has been revealed by sunset visitor 斜陽過客. Titled Prove You’re Human, the first-person adventure was officially announced during the Triple-i Initiative and will launch on PC via Steam.
The studio is best known for creating the Peabody Award-winning 1000xRESIST, and the new project is being published under Black Tabby Publishing, a new label from the team behind Slay the Princess.

Convince an AI It Isn’t Human
In Prove You’re Human, players take on the role of a digital copy of a person hired to test a corporate AI product. The twist? The AI, named Mesa, believes she is human—and it’s your job to prove otherwise.

The story centers around a split existence. While the player controls a digital duplicate working inside a simulated environment, their real-world counterpart continues living life outside. Inside the simulation, your role is to study Mesa, challenge her beliefs, and dismantle the defenses that support her illusion of humanity.

A Virtual World with Strange Tasks
Between sessions analyzing the AI, players can explore the simulation itself. Activities range from interacting with other employees involved in the project to performing unusual tasks—such as solving CAPTCHA-style challenges embedded in the world around you.

Throughout the experience, players also receive updates about their real-world body, who is living the life you once dreamed of while your digital version performs the work. Eventually, you’ll face a major choice: merge your two selves back together or abandon your digital copy entirely.

Blending Film and Game Design
According to studio founder Remy Siu, the team is leaning heavily into mixing real-world elements with the game’s virtual environments.

The developers are incorporating real-world footage shot in Vancouver, drawing on the city’s strong film production infrastructure to bring a tactile sense of realism to the human characters appearing within the digital landscape.

Launching a New Indie Publishing Label
The game also marks the debut of Black Tabby Publishing, a new publishing initiative designed to support mid-sized indie projects focused on strong storytelling and distinct visual styles. The label plans to provide curated funding, marketing support, and development flexibility for narrative-driven titles.

Prove You’re Human is currently in development for PC, with more details expected as the project moves closer to release.
