A new character spotlight for Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy introduces Epione Spes, an acolyte of the Inquisitionwhose medical expertise makes her a vital ally in the grim darkness of the far future.
Set within the troubled Calixis Sector, Epione’s story is one of hardship and determination. Once born into privilege, she lost the status that once defined her life but refused to abandon her pursuit of knowledge. Through perseverance and brutal trials, she mastered diagnosis, pharmacology, and the delicate yet dangerous practice of chirurgery.

That expertise ultimately earned her a place within the Inquisition, where she now works to confront the heresies and deadly diseases spreading across the sector. Her current mission brings her to Scintilla, where a mysterious plague threatens the population.

On the battlefield, Epione is far more than a support specialist. She can rapidly treat injuries, administer stimulants to keep allies in the fight, and stabilize wounded teammates during intense encounters. At close range, however, she becomes a formidable threat herself, wielding a flamer to scorch enemies who get too close or striking with surgical precision using her scalpel.

Outside of combat, her analytical mind and medical training make her an important contributor during investigations. Epione’s ability to examine symptoms, analyze evidence, and uncover hidden clues helps the Inquisition piece together the truth behind the sector’s growing threats.

Players eager to try the game early can experience Epione during the ongoing alpha test on Steam. Access is available through the Collector’s Edition or the Developer’s Digital Pack available via the game’s website. The alpha is expected to remain open for several months as developers gather feedback and allow players to experiment with different ways of shaping their path as an Inquisition acolyte.

Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is currently in development and will launch on PC through Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store, with console versions planned for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
