Indie publisher ByteRockers’ Games has officially partnered with developer Positive Impact Games to bring their debut title, The Regreening, to life. The upcoming project is described as a “soilpunk fairytale” — a cozy farming sim focused on restoring nature, reconnecting with the land, and turning a forgotten world into something vibrant once again.
For ByteRockers’ Games, this marks another step in their continued support of small studios with strong creative identities. Following their first publishing effort with the relaxing kingdom builder Let Them Trade and a collaboration with Irox Games on the atmospheric poetry adventure OKU, the publisher is doubling down on meaningful, vision-driven indie projects.

CEO Maik Reichelt shared his enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting both the studio’s experience and the game’s core message of restoration. Rather than leaning into the tone of traditional “serious games,” The Regreening approaches environmental themes through warmth, charm, and emotional connection.

A Soilpunk Fairytale Rooted in Restoration
At its heart, The Regreening is a farming simulation built around healing a deserted land. Players will explore a folklore-inspired world, encountering ancient spirits drawn from Baltic mythology while gradually reshaping their surroundings through care and creativity.
Gardening, crafting, and nurturing local wildlife form the backbone of the experience. As players plant seeds and cultivate ecosystems, they’ll witness the environment slowly transform into a thriving, living space. The emphasis is on calm, steady progress — a journey of restoration rather than optimization.

Meet the Team Behind the Magic
Positive Impact Games is a Hamburg-based remote studio founded in 2024. Though The Regreening is their first title, the team itself is made up of industry veterans who previously secured support through the Gamecity Hamburg Prototype Fund.
The studio is led by Managing Director Volha Kapitonava, joined by Creative Director Marie-Anne Hachey (formerly of gamigo and THREAKS), Technical Director Merve Meszaros, and Art Director Max Besseling (previously at Grinding Gear Games). Together, they aim to create wholesome, cozy experiences that explore meaningful contemporary themes while uplifting players through play.
Kapitonava described the partnership with ByteRockers’ Games as a natural fit, praising the publisher’s enthusiasm for heartfelt, community-driven projects.
