Pluto, a roguelike deckbuilder from indie team Siege Wizard Interactive and publisher indie.io, is scheduled to launch on PC via Steam on March 9, 2026. Players can get an early look at the game through a significantly updated demo arriving during Steam Next Fest, beginning February 23.

The game follows a wizard imprisoned for magical crimes who must escape captivity while navigating a hostile dark fantasy world. Along the way, he attempts to fulfill a personal obligation — attending his niece’s birthday — adding a layer of grounded motivation to the otherwise dangerous journey.

Pluto blends traditional turn-based deckbuilding with a tactile spellcasting system that emphasizes experimentation. Rather than simply playing cards, players construct spells through overlapping gestures and improvised combinations, turning each encounter into a strategic puzzle where outcomes can vary widely.

Players can choose from eight distinct spellcasters, each capable of weaving elemental patterns and discovering emergent synergies between spells. Combat unfolds across locations such as haunted forests, cursed ruins, and ancient crypts, all presented in a stark hand-drawn style by 2D artist Ditch Witch. The visual direction supports the game’s oppressive tone while leaving room for its dark humor.

The upcoming demo update builds on strong early interest, with more than 20,000 players having already tried the game and giving it a 99% positive rating on Steam.
