Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment have dropped a brand-new gameplay overview trailer for John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, giving players a deeper look at the ‘80s-inspired action-horror shooter ahead of its March 12, 2026 release. The upcoming title is headed to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, and the latest footage highlights everything from mission design to vehicles, weapons, and character classes.

Built by the team behind Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, World War Z, and SnowRunner, the game blends cinematic horror vibes with over-the-top cooperative action. Powered by Saber’s Swarm Engine, players will battle massive hordes of mutated enemies across a semi-open world where survival depends on teamwork and firepower.

You won’t be fighting alone. Toxic Commando supports four-player co-op, letting squads jump into missions together to mow down relentless zombie waves. To help even the odds, players can roll into combat with a lineup of heavy-duty vehicles designed to plow through enemies while navigating the game’s chaotic environments.

The arsenal is equally impressive, featuring 16 primary weapon types alongside a variety of secondary options. Whether you prefer shotguns and sniper rifles or want to get up close with machetes and crowbars, there’s no shortage of tools for turning the undead into scrap.

Players can also tailor their approach by choosing from four distinct classes — Strike, Medic, Operator, or Defender — each offering unique abilities that encourage strategic team play. Full crossplay is supported, making it easy to squad up through matchmaking or private lobbies regardless of platform.

If you’re eager to jump in early, a limited-time demo will be available on Steam from February 19 through March 2, giving players their first hands-on taste of the carnage.

Pre-orders are live now for both the Standard Edition and the Blood Edition. Reserving either version grants access to the “Leon’s Secret Stash” DLC at no extra cost. Meanwhile, the Blood Edition packs in the Bloody Pass, which includes two post-launch DLC drops loaded with cosmetic skins for characters, weapons, and vehicles, plus a golden cosmetic pack to help your squad stand out during the apocalypse.

John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando storms onto PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 12, 2026.
