The developers of Gedonia 2 have unveiled their most ambitious update yet, and it’s a major one. Titled “Berkmere Ravine,” the new content drop arrives January 14, 2026, for all players in Steam Early Access, bringing a massive endgame-focused zone, a branching faction war storyline, and deep new gameplay systems designed to shine in co-op.

At the heart of the update is Berkmere Ravine, a brand-new high-level area built for characters around levels 22–24. The region is locked in a brutal conflict between the noble Gortel family and the necromantic Bone Gatherers, led by the lich Victor Manford. Players must choose which side to support, and that decision doesn’t just flavor the story—it actively shapes the future of the region through a full epic questline.

Players who chose the “Mysterious Stranger” origin get something extra to dig into. The update adds an exclusive storyline that peels back new layers of both the player character and the enigmatic companion following them, expanding one of the game’s most intriguing narrative threads.

On the mechanical side, “Berkmere Ravine” introduces an entirely new Husbandry skill tree, allowing players to tame pets, level them up, and even fight from horseback. Mounted combat opens up fresh tactical options and adds a whole new dimension to exploration and battles. Melee fans also get something new to play with thanks to the addition of greatswords, a powerful two-handed weapon class offering a distinct combat style.

Beyond the headline features, the update packs in new loot, crafting recipes, balance tweaks, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements driven by community feedback. According to lead developer Oleg Kazakov, the goal was to deliver meaningful choices and deep systems that feel especially rewarding in co-op play for up to four players.

For those unfamiliar, Gedonia 2 is a cooperative RPG inspired by classic genre staples, featuring an open world, multiple character origins and classes, non-linear storytelling, and tactical combat built from the ground up for solo or online co-op play.

If you’ve been waiting for a reason to jump back into Gedonia 2—or push deeper into its late-game content—Berkmere Ravine looks like a game-changing update worth exploring.
