Get ready to channel your inner action hero—Karate Survivor is unleashing martial arts chaos on consoles later this month. Inspired by the over-the-top energy of classic ’80s action flicks, this roguelite brawler hits PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch on August 28, courtesy of Alawar.

Already a hit on PC, Karate Survivor throws you into the kind of street-fighting scenarios that would make Van Damme proud. Enemies swarm the screen, and just about anything can be used as a weapon. Mop handles? Yep. Fish from a grocery store cooler? Why not. Plastic flamingos? Of course. You can even spin-kick fools while lounging in a patio chair.

The hook? Improvisation. The environment is packed with everyday items you can weaponize, and you’ll need to get creative to survive the waves of goons coming your way. It’s all wrapped in roguelite mechanics, meaning each run gets you closer to martial arts mastery as you unlock new attacks, upgrades, and permanent abilities.

    Key Features Worth Kicking Into:

    • Improvised Combat: Everything is fair game. From toy hammers to microwave doors, if you can grab it, you can smash with it.

    • Environmental Destruction: Knock over dumpsters, collapse scaffolding, or launch enemies with unexpected objects.

    • Custom Combos: Chain together six-move sequences using a huge pool of attacks. Find your favorite fighting flow.

    • Permanent Progression: Earn XP to unlock new techniques that carry over between runs. Get better. Hit harder.

    • Diverse Arenas: Brawl through a variety of gritty urban environments, each with unique hazards and brutal boss battles.

    • High-Octane Action: Fast-paced fights with serious ’80s vibes—expect big hits, wild combos, and intense showdowns.

Karate Survivor is available now on PC and makes its console debut on August 28, 2025. If you’re a fan of stylish brawlers, roguelites, or just enjoy spinning in a patio chair while drop-kicking punks, this one’s worth a spot on your wishlist.
