During the Future Games Show @ gamescom 2025, IllFonic officially revealed Halloween, a new asymmetric stealth horror game inspired by John Carpenter’s legendary 1978 film. Co-published by Gun Interactive and developed in partnership with Compass International Pictures and Further Front, the game is set to launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC (Steam & Epic Games Store) in 2026.
Step Into the Shadows of Haddonfield
Halloween pits players in a one-versus-many setup, where you’ll either:
-
Embody Michael Myers – Don the iconic mask, stalk unsuspecting townsfolk, cut the phone lines, and turn Haddonfield into your personal hunting ground.
-
Fight Back as Civilians – Slip through the shadows, warn neighbors, and scramble to contact authorities before Michael finds you.
The game will feature solo play, offline bot matches, and online multiplayer, all emphasizing stealth, strategy, and heart-pounding tension.
Faithful to the Film’s Legacy
IllFonic promises an authentic recreation of Carpenter’s chilling atmosphere, complete with faithful Haddonfield maps and a haunting score inspired by the original soundtrack. Every detail is designed to keep players on edge—whether you’re the predator or the prey.
CEO Charles Brungardt shared IllFonic’s passion for staying true to the original:
“As rights holders of the film and producers on the game, [Compass International Pictures and Further Front] have shared incredible insights to help us stay true to the soul of the 1978 film.”
Malek Akkad, President of Compass International Pictures, added:
“We are very excited to have partnered up with the great team at IllFonic to finally bring the definitive digital version of Halloween and Michael Myers to video game fans everywhere.”
And Gun Interactive chimed in with their support:
“Seeing them pour all their efforts into honoring an IP near and dear to so many horror fans, we’re happy to help ensure players get to experience the world of Halloween that they’ve built.”
The Night He Comes Home… Again
With a mix of stealth mechanics, survival horror, and multiplayer tension, Halloween looks ready to carve its place alongside the best in the genre. Fans of the franchise—and anyone who loves a good scare—should mark their calendars, because Michael Myers will strike in 2026.
