Daedalic Entertainment and Three Headed Monkey Studios are teaming up to resurrect the charm of classic adventure games with GHOST HAUNTING, a pixel-packed, point-and-click journey that’s equal parts adorable, eerie, and emotional. Developed by a passionate indie team of true 90s kids, GHOST HAUNTING is a quirky love letter to the golden age of adventure games—reimagined with modern comforts, hand-drawn 2D art, and just the right amount of spooky nonsense.
At the heart of the story is 8-year-old Gigi, a precocious kid who accidentally uncovers a family secret while on vacation: her grumpy grandfather is a retired ghost hunter. Naturally, this sets off a totally reasonable chain of events involving the afterlife, a mission to bring back her deceased grandma, and a wisecracking, pumpkin-headed demon companion named Baron Butt(er)nut. As you do.
From the Afterlife, With Laughs
Despite its post-mortem premise, GHOST HAUNTING isn’t here to traumatize. The game walks a clever tonal tightrope—delivering a story that touches on grief and growing up while staying light-hearted, weird, and frequently hilarious. You’ll meet labor unionized gargoyles, partially dead zombies, and other oddball NPCs as you click your way through a visually rich world drawn entirely by hand.
Gameplay is rooted in classic point-and-click traditions but updated with features players will appreciate in 2025: things like hotspot highlighting, fast travel, and a built-in hint system that ensures you won’t rage-quit because you missed a single pixel on screen. It’s a classic adventure without the classic pain points.
What to Expect from GHOST HAUNTING:
-
Classic 2D point-and-click gameplay with a modern edge
-
Fully hand-drawn pixel art filled with spooky charm and personality
-
Built-in hint system, hotspot highlighting, and fast travel for smooth progression
-
A heartfelt, funny story about family, ghosts, and growing up
-
A “no getting stuck” design philosophy
-
No jump scares (well… probably)
-
A brand-new world with sequel-worthy energy
Whether you’re in it for the puzzles, the puns, or the oddly wholesome chaos of summoning spirits with a sarcastic demon buddy, GHOST HAUNTING looks set to deliver the kind of offbeat adventure fans of the genre have been craving. It’s spooky. It’s cute. And it might just make you tear up between laughs.
Stay tuned for more updates, and don’t forget to wishlist GHOST HAUNTING if your point-and-click soul is ready for a new haunt.
