A Planet Full of Cats Launches in Q1 2026 – Find Lost Catstronauts!

Devcats’ Most Ambitious Hidden Object Game Yet

The cats are no longer just taking over your house—they’re taking over the galaxy. A Planet Full of Cats, the next adorable chapter in Devcats’ beloved Full of Cats series, is officially set to land on Nintendo Switch and Steam for PC and Linux in Q1 2026. First revealed during today’s Shacknews E4 Indie Showcase, this cozy spacefaring adventure is out to prove that no cat gets left behind.

Following more than 1.5 million downloads across the series so far, A Planet Full of Cats sends players on a hidden object quest across a mysterious planet colonized entirely by—you guessed it—cats. Players take on the role of interstellar bounty hunter Judy, tasked with figuring out why this feline-filled world has gone silent and rescuing the missing kitties along the way.

Expect a soothing-yet-challenging blend of puzzle-solving and exploration as you journey through varied biomes like glowing fungal forests, icy tundras, and ancient underground temples. With every area, you’ll need to spot camouflaged cats tucked cleverly into the scenery, collect upgrades like heat rays, x-ray goggles, and temperature-resistant armor, and unlock new paths in classic Metroidvania fashion.

Devcats says this is their most ambitious project to date. “A Planet Full of Cats builds on our previous games, adding devious new puzzles inspired by classic Metroidvania titles, all while maintaining the cozy hidden object pace our players love,” said studio mascot and orange cat Fofiño—yes, a real cat, and yes, the statement was translated by a professional feline whisperer.

  • Diverse biomes with handcrafted puzzles and interactive environments

  • Upgrades and abilities to access new areas and track down the trickiest cats

  • Non-linear progression with classic Metroidvania inspiration
