Brace yourself for a survival horror experience where the cold isn’t your only enemy. NEDRA, the upcoming title from solo developer Davit Andreasyan and indie.io, is set to launch on PC via Steam on June 23, 2025—and it’s bringing players deep into the frozen heart of Soviet-era Antarctica, where unspeakable horrors lie buried beneath the ice.

In NEDRA, you step into the heavy boots of Artur Arayan, a mechanic from the Red Star research base sent to investigate a mysterious SOS signal cutting through the polar night. But after a disastrous expedition, Artur finds himself stranded, injured, and alone in the deadliest place on Earth. His only hope lies in reaching an isolated outpost known as Station Aurora. Unfortunately, there are far worse things out there than frostbite.

A Survival Horror Where Warmth Might Kill You

What sets NEDRA apart is its twisted approach to survival mechanics. Most games ask you to stay warm—NEDRA makes that a death sentence. Here, heat is a beacon for something lurking in the snow—something ancient, relentless, and hungry. Players must walk a deadly tightrope between freezing to death or attracting the attention of heat-seeking monstrosities.

Armed but far from invincible, Artur must rely on stealth, resource management, and raw survival instincts to make it through Aurora’s dark, winding halls. Combat is an option, but rarely a wise one. Staying hidden, manipulating body temperature, and navigating the creeping paranoia of isolation are your best chances at making it out alive.

A Cold War Mystery Meets Cosmic Horror

While NEDRA might draw comparisons to Lovecraft and The Thing, its roots go deeper. Andreasyan cites Solaris by Stanisław Lem as a major influence, along with Edgar Allan Poe and classic psychological horror. The result is a story-driven descent into madness that blends Cold War mystery, philosophical dread, and supernatural terror.

As you explore the haunting corridors of Station Aurora, you’ll piece together the fate of its former occupants, uncover disturbing scientific experiments, and face choices that test both your sanity and your morality. Every clue leads deeper into the unknown—and not every question has a comforting answer.

Built by One. Inspired by Many.

Davit Andreasyan, a 20-year veteran of the games industry, has developed NEDRA as a passion project drawing from a rich original lore he plans to continue expanding in future titles. While NEDRA is a standalone experience, it’s also just one part of a much larger narrative universe.

Already featured in the Lovecraftian Fest and Steam Next Fest, NEDRA has garnered praise for its intense atmosphere and fresh survival mechanics. If you’re a fan of slow-burning horror, oppressive isolation, and stories that dig into the psychological unknown, this is one release to keep on your radar.
