Get ready to step into a twisted steampunk world of anarchy and bloodshed—SteamDolls, the highly anticipated stealth-action platformer from French-Belgian studio The Shady Gentleman, officially launches into Steam Early Access on February 11th at 1 PM EST. A brand-new trailer has dropped to mark the occasion, giving fans a fresh look at the game’s dark, comic book-inspired world.

A Brutal Stealth Experience with a Star-Studded Cast
Players take on the role of The Whisper, a ruthless yet charismatic assassin with a few screws loose, voiced by none other than David Hayter (Metal Gear Solid’s Solid Snake). Set in a sprawling steampunk city teetering on the edge of collapse, SteamDolls challenges players to strike a balance between cunning stealth and savage brutality. Will you silently slip through the shadows, or leave a trail of destruction in your wake?

The Early Access version will feature the game’s first six chapters, offering an estimated 5-7 hours of gameplay, with support for English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. The developers aim to use player feedback to refine mechanics, balancing, and content leading up to the full 1.0 release. For those eager to get a taste of the action before launch, a free demo remains available, featuring the game’s opening sequence.

A Passion Project Years in the Making
Originally teased in 2019 and successfully funded on Kickstarter, SteamDolls is deeply rooted in the creative vision of its developers. Inspired by the studio’s own comic book series, the game combines hand-drawn 2D art with stunning 3D cinematic cutscenes, creating a uniquely immersive aesthetic.

The world of SteamDolls is vast and richly detailed, featuring diverse locations such as:

    • A Once-Grand Chapel – Now overgrown and consumed by nature.
    • A Flesh-Woven Nightmare – A grotesque underbelly seemingly made of living tissue.
    • An Electrified Industrial Bunker – Crackling with danger.
    • A City Overrun by Insectoid Horrors – The infection spreads, warping the streets into something unrecognizable.

As players explore this labyrinthine world, they’ll uncover hidden lore, upgrade The Whisper’s abilities, and customize his home base, where treasures and trophies from their blood-soaked journey can be put on display.
