Pixelsplit and Daedalic Entertainment recently unveiled a detailed preview of their upcoming psychological thriller, REVEIL, set to release on March 6, 2024, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is now available for pre-order, and indie enthusiast CozyGamerKat has conducted an insightful interview with the developers, covering various aspects of REVEIL’s development, story, environment, and sound design. The video showcases atmospheric gameplay and a spine-chilling chase sequence, providing a glimpse into the intense experience awaiting players.
In REVEIL, players will embark on the journey alongside the main character, Walter Thompson, as he navigates through dream-like scenes intertwined with memories. The search for Walter’s daughter, Dorie, unfolds in a surreal environment, primarily centered around the Nelson Bros Circus where he once worked. The game challenges players to make sense of the narrative as reality begins to unravel.
The release date for REVEIL is set for March 6th, 2024, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a PlayStation 4 version planned for later in the year. Due to resource constraints, the small indie team has decided not to develop an Xbox One version.
For those seeking an even more immersive experience, REVEIL’s Funhouse Edition will also launch on the same day. This edition includes additional content, such as original songs, a digital artbook, an unlockable black-and-white camera effect, developer commentary, and audio plays with the original voice actors. The game has previously been featured at events like the Future Game Show and Fear Fest on Steam.
