In The Money Man, New York has become an isolated city ruled by organized crime after the wealthy escaped to Martian colonies. Following a personal tragedy, players strike a deal with one of the city’s criminal organizations and find themselves working in the back room of a speakeasy, where every shift revolves around identifying counterfeit money before it reaches the vault. Failure isn’t simply a financial mistake—it could cost someone their life.

Players will use a collection of forensic-style tools to inspect every bill that crosses their desk. Scanners reveal serial numbers and hidden details, while UV lighting exposes security features, watermarks, counterfeit threads, and other signs of fraudulent currency. A notebook and ledger help cross-reference suspicious findings, requiring careful attention to detail as increasingly convincing fake bills appear.

Outside of work, the speakeasy becomes a valuable source of information. Conversations with patrons uncover rumors and hidden relationships that can help determine whether the people handing over cash are telling the truth or attempting to deceive the crime family. Those interactions play a key role in deciding who can be trusted as the story unfolds.

The narrative spans 31 in-game days, with every decision influencing the outcome. Players can remain loyal to the mob, cooperate with law enforcement as an informant, or attempt to escape the decaying city for Mars once its gates reopen. Nine different endings await, with even small choices capable of dramatically changing the final outcome.

Before the full release, players will be able to experience a standalone prequel through the upcoming Steam demo. The demo introduces the game’s inspection mechanics while presenting its own branching storyline filled with difficult moral choices and desperate citizens trying to survive in a city where money—and trust—are in short supply.

The Money Man combines investigative gameplay with narrative-driven decision-making by having players carefully inspect bills using scanners, UV lighting, notebooks, and ledgers to uncover counterfeit currency. Throughout the story, recurring characters return with evolving personal stories, making each encounter feel more meaningful as your choices impact their fates. The demo marks the first opportunity for many PC players to experience Roguecraft DX, following the game’s successful releases on Amiga and Evercade platforms. Players can explore five dungeon levels and experiment with all three playable character classes, offering a substantial preview of the full adventure ahead of its planned Summer 2026 release.

Set within the dark and dangerous depths of Mordecoom, Roguecraft DX challenges players to navigate procedurally generated dungeons filled with hidden treasures, deadly enemies, and unpredictable encounters. Every run offers a different layout, ensuring no two adventures are exactly the same.

At the start of each journey, players can choose between three classic fantasy archetypes. The Warrior specializes in raw strength and durability, the Rogue relies on agility and teleporting backstab attacks, and the Mage delivers powerful magical attacks while requiring careful positioning due to lower defenses. Each class presents a different level of challenge, allowing players to tailor the experience to their preferred playstyle.

One of the game’s standout additions is the new Chicken Run mode. In this unique challenge, players begin as a fragile chicken with only two health points. By collecting golden eggs throughout the dungeon, they can transform into the powerful Chicklathotep, gaining access to devastating poultry-themed abilities capable of turning the tables on the horrors lurking below.

While Roguecraft DX embraces the look and feel of classic roguelikes, it also incorporates modern design sensibilities. Individual runs are designed to last approximately 30 to 40 minutes, making the game approachable for shorter play sessions while still providing the depth and replayability that fans of the genre expect.
