The next chapter in Hathaway’s rebellion arrives in theaters

The long-awaited continuation of the Hathaway saga is almost here with Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, the second film in the cinematic adaptation of Yoshiyuki Tomino’s Hathaway’s Flash novel trilogy. Directed by Shūkō Murase and produced by Sunrise, the film continues the Universal Century storyline following the events of the first Hathaway movie. 

A rebellion against the Earth Federation

Set in U.C. 0105—twelve years after Char’s Rebellion—the story follows Hathaway Noa, who secretly leads the anti-Federation resistance movement known as Mafty. Publicly a quiet young man, Hathaway is orchestrating attacks against the Earth Federation’s leadership in response to what he sees as its increasingly oppressive rule. 

As Mafty prepares a major strike against the Adelaide Conference, Hathaway finds himself haunted by memories of past conflicts while grappling with the influence of a mysterious girl named Gigi Andalusia. Her strange powers and cryptic behavior complicate Hathaway’s mission as the Earth Federation begins mobilizing its own forces to stop him. 

A new stage in the Gundam film trilogy

The film serves as the second installment in the planned Hathaway trilogy, continuing the story that began with the 2021 film. Director Shūkō Murase returns to helm the project, with music composed by Hiroyuki Sawano and animation produced by Sunrise under Bandai Namco Filmworks. 

The Japanese voice cast includes Kenshō Ono as Hathaway Noa, Sōma Saitō, Junichi Suwabe, and Reina Ueda. 

Release details

Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe premiered in Japan on January 30, 2026 and is scheduled to arrive in U.S. theaters on May 15, 2026. The film runs approximately 108 minutes and continues the Universal Century storyline with large-scale mobile suit battles and deeper exploration of Hathaway’s motivations. 

As the conflict between Mafty and the Earth Federation escalates, The Sorcery of Nymph Circe pushes Hathaway’s story toward its next major turning point in one of the most politically charged arcs in the long-running Gundam universe.
