TMXN Games is preparing to launch Among Shadows, an asymmetric PvP social deduction game that combines fast-paced Soulslike-inspired combat with deception and investigation. The game arrives on PC via Steam Early Access on September 24, 2026, while players can try the debut demo through August 31.
Set in a fantasy world devastated by an ancient apocalyptic infection, Among Shadows places players in the role of Envoys of the Order of the Secret Fire. The once-prosperous land has been consumed by plague and chaos, and players must track the source of the infection while attempting to prevent it from spreading further.
Players can choose from 10 different Envoys, each offering their own combat style and specialized abilities. Samurai can take enemies down with deadly sword techniques, Wind Talkers can unleash devastating lightning attacks, while heavily armored Paladins can rely on powerful holy strikes.
However, surviving the infected lands isn’t simply about defeating monsters. Apostles from the Underworld are hidden among the Envoys, secretly working to sabotage the group’s mission. Once the Blood Moon rises, hordes of undead creatures emerge, forcing the remaining Envoys to defend the Lord and his citizens while watching their own allies for signs of betrayal.
Infection sources can appear throughout the world, from seemingly ordinary village wells to forbidden cult gatherings. Players will need to investigate their surroundings, work together to identify sources of corruption, and cleanse them before the threat grows.
Exploration also provides opportunities to gather materials and discover scrolls that can be used to forge powerful weapons and unlock advanced spells. At the end of each night, players return to the church to call a Judgment, where they can compare their findings through voice chat and attempt to identify the hidden Apostles before they have an opportunity to assassinate the Lord.

Among Shadows will launch into Steam Early Access for $10.99 on September 24. The game will support English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
