Dark rituals, political intrigue, and the lure of forbidden power are coming to consoles this summer. Publisher Silver Lining Interactive, working alongside developer Psychic Software, has announced that the acclaimed gothic RPG The Necromancer’s Tale will launch on June 24, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

The announcement follows a wave of recognition for the dark fantasy RPG, which recently earned a triple win at the Imirt Irish Game Awards 2026, taking home awards for Best Storytelling and Best Technical Achievement while also receiving a Runner-Up nod for Best Art Direction. The title has also been named an International finalist at the TIGA Awards.

Set in an 18th-century world steeped in secrecy and ambition, The Necromancer’s Tale places players in the role of a noble whose curiosity leads them down a dangerous path into the forbidden arts. By day, players must navigate the delicate social politics of the elite—engaging in diplomacy, intrigue, and manipulation to maintain their standing. By night, darker ambitions take shape as forbidden rituals allow you to command the dead and quietly build a skeletal army.

Narrative choice plays a central role in the experience. With more than 400,000 words of branching story content and over 180 unique NPCs, the game emphasizes consequence-driven decisions that shape both personal relationships and the broader narrative. Players will balance ambition with the creeping weight of madness as their character delves deeper into necromancy.

Combat blends tactical turn-based encounters with the strategic use of undead minions, though players can also opt to auto-resolve battles if they prefer to focus on the narrative and political maneuvering.

The Necromancer’s Tale launches worldwide on June 24, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2, inviting players to step into a world where power, secrecy, and the dead are all intertwined.
