After a decade of development, indie studio Bugbyte Ltd has officially launched Version 1.0 of Space Haven, bringing the ambitious spaceship colony simulator out of Early Access and into its full release on PC via Steam.
Created by a small three-person team based in Finland, Space Haven has spent years evolving with the help of community feedback since first entering Early Access in 2020. Over that time, the game steadily expanded with new systems, mechanics, and content updates, eventually growing into one of the most detailed sci-fi colony simulators available. The game has already surpassed 700,000 sales during its development journey.

With the launch of Version 1.0, players can experience the complete sandbox survival simulation. Set in a universe where Earth has collapsed, players take command of a group of civilians searching for a new home among the stars. The journey begins with a small crew and a basic ship, but over time players can construct and expand their vessel tile by tile while managing vital life-support systems such as oxygen, temperature, power, and hazardous gases.

Crew management plays a central role in the experience. Every crew member in Space Haven is fully simulated with their own skills, personality traits, moods, and relationships. Their emotional and physical states influence life aboard the ship, meaning stress, injuries, hunger, or even interpersonal conflicts can dramatically shape each playthrough. These dynamic systems create unpredictable stories, whether it’s a desperate fight against alien infestations or a somber farewell for a fallen crewmate lost in deep space.

Beyond ship management, the game also features tactical ship-to-ship combat, exploration of abandoned vessels through away missions, and interactions with various factions across the galaxy. Players may trade with allies or clash with hostile groups including pirates, cultists, slavers, androids, and dangerous alien creatures. Thanks to procedural generation and dynamic systems, every journey across the galaxy unfolds differently.

The game draws inspiration from well-known colony simulation titles like RimWorld, Oxygen Not Included, and Spacebase DF-9, while also channeling the spirit of classic science fiction series such as Battlestar Galactica, Babylon 5, and Firefly.

Space Haven Version 1.0 is available now on PC via Steam for $24.99, with a 40% launch discount available for a limited time.

If you’ve been waiting to chart your own course through the galaxy, now might be the perfect time to assemble your crew, build your ship, and see if humanity’s future can be found among the stars.
