Kyoto-based studio Q-Games has officially unveiled PixelJunk Yodelee Golf, the newest entry in the long-running PixelJunk franchise. The quirky multiplayer title is heading to Steam, with additional platforms still to be announced.
Rather than focusing on traditional golf mechanics, Yodelee Golf leans into absurdity with a cozy open-world playground where a single golf ball becomes the center of chaotic multiplayer adventures. Players can ride motorbikes, cruise in boats, and explore gondolas while navigating mountain caves filled with monsters, rubber ducks, and other strange surprises scattered throughout the world.
Designed for one to four players, the game supports both online and local co-op. The focus is on shared discovery and unpredictable physics-driven fun as players work together—or accidentally sabotage each other—while trying to guide the ball through the surreal landscape.
One of the game’s most unusual mechanics revolves around voice interaction. Yodelee Golf features a system that converts spoken words into giant 3D letters that appear in the world and influence gameplay. Players can literally shout at the golf ball in hopes of nudging it toward the hole, adding another layer of chaotic interaction. Voice audio also travels naturally through the environment thanks to a ray-traced proximity chat system that creates realistic echoes and distance effects. Climb to the top of a mountain and shout “Yo-delee-oh!” and you’ll hear it carry across the valley.
Fans attending BitSummit PUNCH in Kyoto will get the first hands-on opportunity with the game. The demo will be available at the Q-Games booth during the three-day event, where visitors can take part in a mini putt-putt challenge for special prizes. Influencers will also showcase the game live on the BitSummit stage on Saturday, May 23.
