Horror is heading to the show floor in a big way as Paranormal Activity: Threshold makes its first public appearance with a playable demo at PAX East 2026, running March 26–29 in Boston.

Presented by DreadXP in collaboration with Paramount Pictures, the upcoming horror title brings the iconic Paranormal Activity universe into an interactive experience. Attendees will be able to go hands-on with the demo at the DreadXP booth, marking the first chance to step inside the game’s unsettling world.

Developed by Brian Clarke of DarkStone Digital—the creator behind The Mortuary Assistant—Threshold builds on the same atmospheric tension and psychological dread that helped his previous project become a breakout hit in the horror space.

The game follows Daniel and Jessica Stewart, a couple documenting the renovation of their new home. What starts as a routine project quickly spirals into something far more disturbing. Hidden markings, strange objects within the walls, and an escalating supernatural presence turn their dream home into a nightmare. As the recordings continue, it becomes clear they are not alone—and whatever shares the house isn’t staying quiet.

Clarke’s signature approach to immersive horror is front and center here, blending slow-building tension with unexpected scares. Drawing inspiration from the found-footage roots of the Paranormal Activity series, the game aims to deliver a deeply unsettling experience where players actively investigate the unknown rather than just watch it unfold.

With the Paranormal Activity franchise terrifying audiences since its 2007 debut, Threshold looks to push that legacy further by putting players directly in the middle of the haunting.

The full game is currently in development for PC via Steam, but those attending PAX East will get an early taste of the fear when the demo hits the show floor later this month.
