Publisher NACON and developer Teyon have officially revealed Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish, a new first-person action RPG set in the dark and supernatural universe of World of Darkness. The announcement was made during the recent Xbox Partner Preview showcase.
The upcoming game marks the return of the Hunter: The Reckoning video game series after more than two decades. Teyon, known for its work on RoboCop: Rogue City, describes the project as its most ambitious title yet. Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish is currently scheduled to launch in summer 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC via Steam.

Set in a sprawling version of New York City, the game places players in the role of a Hunter—an ordinary human who has uncovered the horrifying truth that monsters secretly control the world. Vampires, werewolves, and other supernatural creatures lurk beneath the surface of everyday life, and it’s up to players to track them down before they harm the innocent.

Like the tabletop RPG that inspired it, players will be able to customize their Hunter and explore the city freely while gathering clues, taking on side quests, and preparing for dangerous hunts. Each mission may require a different approach, whether that means going in with brute force, using stealth, or relying on strategy and preparation.

Combat features a mix of ranged and melee weapons as players confront deadly supernatural enemies. Throughout the story, hunters will also work alongside a small group of allies—five unique companions who assist during missions. Each character comes with their own background and personality, and players can develop relationships with them, including potential romances.

Player choice will also play a major role in shaping the story. Decisions made during dialogue and missions can lead to different outcomes and influence how the narrative unfolds. Those choices may also impact relationships with allies or even attract attention from law enforcement, creating additional challenges along the way.
According to Jess Lanzillo, Creative Director at White Wolf for World of Darkness, the team believes the project captures the spirit of the franchise while bringing the setting to life in a new way.

In Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish, the mission is simple: stand between monsters and humanity. Because if the Hunters don’t, no one else will.
