Indie studio Chaos Theory Games has announced Rusthaven, a cosy management adventure where players lead a team of robots aboard a skyship in a hopeful post-apocalyptic world. Players take on the role of Captain-model robot Scoot, navigating a verdant but ruined environment to repair broken robots, expand their crew, and upgrade their ship.

The game focuses on second chances and relationships, as befriended robots regain lost memories and passions, unlocking new abilities and interactions. As the crew grows, the skyship transforms into a lived-in space that reflects the personality and history of its members.

Gameplay emphasizes exploration, resource scavenging, and crafting, with a tactile approach to salvaging retro human technology and customizing ship systems, rooms, and decorations. The tone is calm and optimistic, highlighting community, care, and cooperation in a world recovering from collapse.

Following Chaos Theory Games’ 2024 strategy title Crab God, which supported real-world ocean conservation, Rusthaven continues the studio’s mission of imagining a better future through gameplay experiences.
