The Black Death is coming—and survival won’t come easy. META Publishing and 1M Bits Horde have announced that Nested Lands, a medieval survival-settlement RPG, will enter Early Access on January 23, 2026. The reveal was made during the New Game+ Showcase, with the Early Access version launching on PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. Console versions are planned for the game’s full release.

Set in a plague-ravaged medieval world, Nested Lands throws players into a ruthless fight for survival where everything starts from nothing. You’ll gather resources, construct buildings, and slowly forge a functioning village while fending off roaming bandits, twisted plague-infested enemies, and the ever-present threat of disease.

Survival Is More Than Just Staying Alive
Managing a settlement in Nested Lands means making hard decisions. Plague outbreaks can spiral out of control, villagers react to your leadership, and every choice shapes how the world responds to you. On top of that, the game leans into psychological survival, raising unsettling questions about the protagonist’s mental state—and even personal hygiene—as the pressure mounts.

What’s Included in Early Access
The Early Access build introduces a host of expanded systems refined through community feedback, including:
-
A deeper plague system with multiple stages and meaningful tactical consequences
-
Reworked combat and stealth, emphasizing survival over brute force
-
Smarter villagers and improved management tools, alongside clearer automation systems
-
Quality-of-life improvements across building, progression, and the user interface

Players won’t have to wait long to get hands-on. An updated demo is arriving soon, featuring co-op support for up to four players, offering a glimpse of the harsh world and its core systems ahead of launch.
