MOCHI-O, the charmingly chaotic tower defense shooter developed by Zxima and published by Kodansha Creators’ Lab, is set to fend off an alien invasion on Monday, January 19, 2026, launching on PC via Steam.
Billed as the world’s cutest doomsday defense system, MOCHI-O stars a tiny hamster with world-ending firepower. This pint-sized weapon of mass destruction doesn’t grow stronger through rage or grit, but through positive affirmations, cuddles, and an endless supply of seeds. It’s a wholesome twist on the apocalypse, wrapped in warm humor and playful banter that keeps the tone light even as the world teeters on collapse.
Gameplay blends tower defense with hands-on shooting action. Players pick up MOCHI-O, aim it at incoming threats, and unleash destruction as enemy ships swarm in. As battles progress, MOCHI-O’s abilities evolve, turning this fluffy defender into a customizable force of nature.

Customization plays a major role in shaping your playstyle. Defeated enemies drop seeds that act as XP, allowing players to level up MOCHI-O’s core stats, including firing rate, critical chance, attack range, and cooldown reductions. Weapons and abilities can be mixed and matched, encouraging experimentation and multiple viable builds.

Outside of combat, MOCHI-O’s power grows through bonding. Petting, feeding, and decorating its room strengthens the caretaker relationship, unlocking new upgrades and weapons. The stronger the bond, the bigger the boom.
MOCHI-O’s a comedic, lighthearted take on the end of the world with a ‘gentle doomsday’ aesthetic, but its cuteness is matched by its gameplay depth
