Tlön Industries has revealed a fresh look at their upcoming 2D craftervania Kentum, alongside news that V Publishing has signed on to bring the game to Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch later this year.
The latest trailer reintroduces us to Kent — a wisecracking clone armed with little more than a stick and stubborn determination. After waking up in the year 10,000 following a nap that lasted a few thousand years too long, Kent faces a world in ruins. His mission? Craft, build, and automate his way back to civilization, one makeshift tool at a time. Thankfully, he won’t be alone, with his robotic sidekick ORB offering matter-of-fact quips and a helping hand.
But while Kent is technically immortal thanks to endless cloning, death still carries its frustrations. The world is teeming with hostile creatures, unforgiving climates, and mysteries hidden among the ruins — all waiting to put players to the test.
What to Expect in Kentum
-
Explore and Catalogue – Study the world’s plants, animals, and minerals to survive the changing seasons.
-
Craft to Survive – Build everything from simple coal-burning setups to sprawling automated factories.
-
Die, Respawn, Repeat – Death isn’t the end, but it sure is a hassle. Manage food, farming, and cooking to stay alive.
-
Base-Building Bliss – Construct and expand your home hub into a fully automated machine while you’re off adventuring.
-
Tools of the Future – Hoverboards, gliders, grappling hooks, and more to help traverse jungles, ruins, and other exotic locales.
With a mix of humor, survival, and automation, Kentum looks like it’s shaping up to be a unique twist on the crafting-sim formula. Players eager to dive in can wishlist the game now ahead of its release later this year.
