Card-slingers and creature collectors, assemble—there’s a new beast on the block. Decktamer, the upcoming roguelike deckbuilder from developer Horizon Edge and publisher Assemble Entertainment, is bringing its unique brand of tactical chaos to Steam in Q4 2025. And if you’re headed to gamescom 2025, you’ll get a chance to go hands-on with the madness yourself.

Monsters Are Your Cards—And Your Only Lifeline

Forget decks of spells or weapons—Decktamer turns every card into a living creature, captured during your journey through the surreal and deadly Abyss. These aren’t just passive tools. Each monster in your deck takes its own action every turn, forcing you to strategize around their personalities, traits, and timing. One wrong move, and a powerful ally could be lost forever.

But it’s not just about catching monsters—it’s about taming, fusing, and evolving them. Mutate your team with bizarre abilities scavenged from the Abyss, combine creatures into devastating hybrids, and create a one-of-a-kind deck that adapts to your playstyle… or your latest crisis.

    Key Features:

    • Every Card Is a Monster – Capture beasts in battle and add them to your deck. Your cards are your team.

    • Permanent Death – Lose a creature in combat, and it’s gone for good. Every decision matters.

    • Turn-Based Chaos – Each monster acts independently every turn. Plan ahead—or pay the price.

    • Fuse and Mutate – Transfer abilities between monsters to create unstoppable synergies.

    • Procedural Worlds – No two runs are the same as the Abyss twists and reshapes itself with each dive.

A Deckbuilder That Challenges Your Morals

“We wanted to make a game that doesn’t just challenge your tactical mind—but your conscience,” says Axel Rueda of Horizon Edge. “You’re not just building a deck. You’re deciding who lives, who dies, and what you’re willing to do to survive.”

Decktamer will be playable at gamescom 2025, where Horizon Edge and Assemble Entertainment are set to show off its monster-catching mayhem as part of their Indie Insanity lineup.

Decktamer launches on Steam in Q4 2025. Wishlist now and prepare to enter the Abyss.
