ASTROBOTANICA, the science-driven survival adventure from Space Goblin Studio, has officially crossed the 50,000 wishlists mark on Steam. The team has also confirmed that a free demo will be available during Steam Next Fest from October 13–20, 2025, giving players their first hands-on experience with the game ahead of its Early Access launch in Winter 2025.
Originally revealed through a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over £46,000, ASTROBOTANICA has been steadily growing thanks to its mix of survival gameplay and scientific discovery. Kickstarter backers got an early taste during a closed Alpha earlier this summer, with player feedback helping shape the upcoming demo. Space Goblin has also confirmed that the game will be fully Steam Deck compatible, letting players bring their plant-filled adventures on the go.
Unlike traditional survival games that focus purely on resource management, ASTROBOTANICA emphasizes curiosity, exploration, and experimentation.
As Xel, an extraterrestrial stranded on prehistoric Earth, you’ll need to balance survival with research—studying plants, crafting tonics, cultivating crops, and even forming connections with primal humans you encounter along the way.
Key Features
-
Plant Research – Discover unique flora and study how they affect both the environment and living organisms.
-
Tonics Crafting – Experiment with plant-based ingredients to create powerful mixtures and recipes.
-
Cultivation – Grow and nurture your own crops while protecting them from hungry wildlife.
-
Exploration – Traverse diverse biomes, face off against dangerous creatures, and uncover hidden mysteries.
-
Human Interaction – Build relationships with primal humans, unlocking opportunities for trade and cooperation.
With its focus on blending survival gameplay with scientific exploration, ASTROBOTANICA aims to bring something fresh to the genre when it enters Early Access this winter. Players can jump in early when the demo arrives this October during Steam Next Fest.
