Unveiled during “Games Forged in Germany” Steam event, solo developer Studio Inkyfox (Jonas Manke), best known for the indie hit Omno, officially lifted the veil on his next project: Kibu. Published by Future Friends Games (Omno, Exo One, Europa), this atmospheric action-adventure is set to launch on PC via Steam later this year.

The brand-new gameplay trailer showcases a meditative journey through painterly landscapes, spiritual encounters, and tactile exploration, all set in a peaceful wilderness that’s begging to be restored.

A Monk’s Journey into Nature and the Spirit World

In Kibu, you play as a solitary monk living off the land, guided by the spirits of nature and the wisdom they offer. Armed with a mystical staff, you’ll glide through vast landscapes, scale towering cliffs, and battle shadowy foes on a quest to bring life back to a crumbling temple—your home and sanctuary.

This is not a loud, fast-paced adventure. Like Omno, Kibu leans into peaceful solitude, nature, and quiet discovery.

    Features Overview

    • Traverse Dreamlike Worlds – Climb, glide, and navigate through hand-crafted biomes full of color, movement, and secrets.

    • Rebuild Your Temple – Channel divine energy and turn a ruined sanctuary into a thriving haven.

    • Spiritual Encounters – Commune with ancient spirits to uncover forgotten wisdom and stories.

    • Tactile Combat – Wield your staff in a flowing combat system that rewards rhythm and precision.

    • Collect and Curate – Build a peaceful life with a growing collection of fish, bonsai trees, and other serene treasures.

With its unique blend of atmospheric exploration, light combat, and spiritual storytelling, Kibu is shaping up to be one of 2025’s most calming and beautiful indie releases.
