The dinos are back—and this time, you don’t have to explore alone. Celestial Studio has just dropped a brand-new demo for Dino Topia on Steam, and it’s packed with fresh features, fan-requested upgrades, and a powerful new prehistoric pal you’ll want by your side.
Titled the Frontier Demo, this updated version gives players—both new and returning—a clean slate to experience everything the developers have been working on since the closed beta. Progress from that earlier test won’t carry over, but you won’t mind once you see what’s new.
Co-Op Dino Farming, a Tameable Boss, and Streamlined Gameplay
Cunninga is the demo’s headliner: a boss-tier, ironclad dinosaur with devastating attacks and a tanky defensive skillset. Once tamed, this fearsome beast becomes one of your most reliable companions—perfect for dungeon runs or just helping you hold down the fort.
But Dino Topia isn’t just about solo survival anymore. Multiplayer is here! The Frontier Demo introduces co-op gameplay for the first time, allowing you and a friend (locally or online) to raise dinos, hatch eggs faster, share resources, and build your farmstead together.
That’s not all—Celestial Studio has also reworked major systems:
-
UI and task management have been streamlined with a unified system that makes assigning dino jobs faster and easier.
-
A new Star-Raising System lets you fuse duplicate dinos to enhance their stats.
-
Egg hatching has been sped up, and stamina/health tweaks make gameplay less punishing and more fun.
What is Dino Topia, Anyway?
If you’re new to the game, think Stardew Valley meets Monster Rancher with dinosaurs. You’ll hatch and raise over 40 different types of dinos, each with their own skills and traits, while growing crops, exploring dungeons, crafting gear, and upgrading your settlement. With four distinct environments, 60+ dungeon bosses, 30 totems, and 70 relics that shape your combat style, there’s plenty to dig into.
Whether you’re farming for rare eggs or diving into ancient ruins, Dino Topia offers a robust blend of cozy creativity and creature-collecting chaos.
The Frontier Demo is live now on Steam, and a wishlist button is just a click away. Jump in, start building your dino dream team, and don’t forget to join the official Discord for updates, events, and maybe a few sneak peeks.
