Get ready to make a mess—then clean it up fast. The absurdly hilarious VR sandbox Hide the Corpse is sneaking onto PlayStation VR2 on August 18, as revealed during the UploadVR Showcase. Developed by Realcast and published by HyperVR Games, this slapstick body-hiding simulator is already a hit on Meta Quest and is now expanding its cover-up operation to new territory.
The premise is simple (and ridiculous): the cops are on their way, you’ve got four minutes, and poor Gus is very, very dead. Your job? Hide the body. By any means necessary.
Drag, Drop, Disguise
In Hide the Corpse, you’ll frantically drag Gus across a series of themed rooms, each packed with physics-based props, hiding spots, and interactive mayhem. From a retro diner to a cramped apartment to a sleek museum full of priceless distractions, you’ll have to use your surroundings—and your creativity—to keep Gus out of sight and suspicion.
Oh, and it gets weirder:
-
Hide him on a zero-gravity spaceship, letting physics do some of the dirty work.
-
Or head underwater to a sunken ship, where evidence floats (or sinks).
Along the way, you’ll need to destroy evidence, wipe fingerprints, and make sure no one finds anything that could link you to the scene.
Corpse Couture & Gassy Chaos
Yes, you can dress up the body. Spend points earned by erasing evidence to unlock a wardrobe of ridiculous corpse costumes:
-
Go full retro with a Disco suit
-
Turn Gus into a superhero (or villain)
-
Or embrace the irony with Zombie attire
Want even more chaos? Activate Modifiers like Gas Crisis, where Gus becomes a human (er… corpse) balloon, using his, uh… “propulsion” to fly around the stage.
“We’re thrilled that our supportive community loves Hide the Corpse — their positive feedback has empowered us to continue to expand Gus’ world with updates and new platforms,’’ said Eneko Barandiaran, Publishing Manager at HyperVR Games. “We can’t wait to invite PlayStation VR players to join the corpse-hiding party next month!”
