Hope is rising again in New London. 11 bit studios has officially announced that Frostpunk 2 will make its console debut on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 18, 2025. And for those craving a tangible piece of the Frostlands, the studio is teaming up with Skybound Games to deliver two physical collector’s editions when the game launches.
Even better? Frostpunk 2 will be available on Xbox Game Pass for console on day one.
Refined for Consoles, Built for Survival
Following valuable lessons from the first Frostpunk’s console release, Frostpunk 2 arrives with a redesigned, gamepad-optimized interface. 11 bit studios has fine-tuned the circular UI and added features that let players guide New London’s fate seamlessly with a controller in hand.
“We started by reusing some of the original UI systems,” said Igor Skibinski, Production Coordinator on Frostpunk 2. “But the sequel evolved so much, we had to rethink and rebuild most of it. Our goal was always to keep the player immersed—never distracted by the controls.”
The new control scheme includes features like shoulder button-based district cycling and a dynamic radial menu for quick actions over resources. And for those playing on PC with a gamepad, a post-launch update will add these new interface options there, too.

Alongside the digital release, two collector’s editions—The Icebreaker Edition and The Whiteout Edition—will be available for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players.
