The Southeast’s biggest celebration of gaming, anime, and all things nerdy just hit a major milestone—MomoCon 2025 wrapped up its 20th anniversary with a record-breaking crowd of 59,222 fans descending upon the Georgia World Congress Center over Memorial Day weekend.
From indie showcases to cosplay contests and panels packed with pop culture icons, this year’s MomoCon delivered on every front. A major highlight was the reunion of two legendary game creators: Goichi “Suda51” Suda (No More Heroes, Shadows of the Damned) and Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro (Deadly Premonition, D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die). The duo hosted a joint panel discussing their highly anticipated roguelike hack n’ slash project, Hotel Barcelona, which is set to launch later this year.
But the celebration wasn’t just about gaming and anime—it was about giving back. MomoCon 2025 raised over $12,500 for its charity partner, the Johnson STEM Activity Center, a nonprofit that empowers underserved youth through hands-on STEM learning.
Looking Ahead to 2026
MomoCon will return to the Georgia World Congress Center from May 21–24, 2026, promising another four days packed with fan-fueled excitement. Organizers have already announced the first wave of special guests: voice talents from Netflix’s upcoming Dan Da Dan anime, including:
-
A.J. Beckles (Tokyo Revengers, Mufasa: The Lion King)
-
Kari Wahlgren (Fate series, Rick and Morty)
-
Ben Diskin (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Aggretsuko)
Whether you’re there for the panels, the cosplay, the games, or just the vibes, MomoCon continues to be a must-attend event for fans across the Southeast and beyond.
