Get ready, space explorers—ROCKFISH Games has officially locked in the launch date for EVERSPACE 2: Wrath of the Ancients, the first major expansion for the award-winning space looter-shooter RPG. Blasting off on May 12, 2025, the expansion arrives on Steam, GOG, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, priced at $29.99 / €29.99 / £24.99 / ¥3900, with full English and German voiceovers.
Picking up after the main campaign, Wrath of the Ancients introduces four brand-new star systems, each packed with handcrafted locations, dangerous new enemies, hidden secrets, and mind-bending puzzles. Players will also get access to a brand-new spaceship, offering a fresh playstyle built around high-powered ability combos, giving space combat an extra layer of strategy and spectacle.
In addition to new post-game and side quests expanding the lore of Cluster 34, the expansion is a direct response to community feedback. “This is the content our fans have been asking for—more places to explore, more enemies to battle, new gear to loot, and a new ship to master,” said Michael Schade, CEO and Co-Founder of ROCKFISH Games. “The team went all-in on Wrath of the Ancients, and I can’t wait to see the reactions when players finally get their hands on it.”
The launch also brings with it two fresh DLCs: a digital artbook and a new official soundtrack collecting all the stunning visuals and music created since the base game’s release. On top of that, ROCKFISH is rolling out a Galactic Edition for Xbox and PlayStation, bundling EVERSPACE 2 and all expansions in one package for new pilots jumping in for the first time.
The expansion’s development was supported in part by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany, part of a broader initiative to bolster indie devs in the country. “Government funding like this is essential for small and mid-sized studios to thrive independently,” Schade added. “It’s a big reason why we can keep delivering ambitious projects like Wrath of the Ancients.”
EVERSPACE 2 is currently available for $49.99 / €49.99 / £44.99 / ¥6930 across Steam, GOG, Microsoft Store, PlayStation, and Xbox. The game supports 13 languages and is fully voiced in English and German.
