TankHead Rolls Out: Alpha Channel’s Debut Roguelite is Here
Indie studio Alpha Channel has officially launched TankHead, their debut roguelite packed with thrilling vehicle combat and exploration. Announced as a surprise reveal during this year’s Day of the Devs: The Game Awards Edition, TankHead is now available exclusively on the Epic Games Store.
Surviving the ECA
Set in the desolate, post-cataclysm world of ECA, TankHead drops players into the boots of Whitaker, a sleepwalker who defies the odds by venturing into this hostile land. Whitaker “tele-projects” his consciousness into a Needle—a rugged drone designed to navigate the ECA’s harsh terrain. From there, players pilot a heavily armed Tank, completing high-risk missions to recover valuable artifacts and uncover the secrets of Highpoint City.
Tank Combat with a Strategic Edge
Every mission pits players against relentless foes, including the massive, mechanized war machines called TankHeads. Victory isn’t just about firepower; survival requires tactical thinking, precision, and clever customization. Players can upgrade their tanks with an arsenal of weapons, motors, wheels, and special abilities, tailoring their loadout to fit their strategy.
Combat in TankHead is a dynamic mix of maneuverability and precision. Controlling both the body and turret of the tank, players must balance offense and defense, keeping armor intact while exploiting enemy weak points. After battles, scavenging becomes critical—looted resources can mean the difference between upgrading to dominate or being left in the dust.
Explore, Customize, Conquer
With three gorgeously rendered maps, a diverse range of enemies, and an expansive system for tank customization, TankHead offers a unique blend of exploration and tactical combat. The ECA is unforgiving, but it’s also a land of opportunity for those willing to take the risk.
