The Dead Rise Again in World War Z: Aftermath with the New “Extinction” Update!

Get ready, survivors—things are about to get intense. The latest “Extinction” update for World War Z: Aftermath, the co-op zombie shooter from Saber Interactive, is now live! Whether you’re on PC (Steam or Epic Games), PlayStation, or Xbox, this free update comes packed with fresh content, including brand-new mutators for Challenge Mode, the addition of the Arizona XL map for Challenge Horde Mode, heavy weapon customization options, and the premium Golden Bloom Weapon Skin Pack DLC. Plus, brace yourself for the toughest challenge yet: the Extinction Challenge Mode.

What’s New in Extinction?
Feeling brave? The new Extinction Challenge Mode is here to push you and your team to the limit. Zombies are deadlier than ever, able to infect you on contact. You’ll need sharp eyes too, as distinguishing between allies and enemies just got a lot harder. And here’s the kicker: you can only be revived at checkpoints, making every encounter life-or-death.

Each week, one campaign episode’s maps will be featured in Extinction Challenge Mode. Complete all of them for the first time, and you’ll be rewarded with exclusive bonuses like a heavy weapon skin, 350 blue coins, and 1,000 gold coins.

New Mutators for Challenge Horde Mode

Today’s update also introduces 13 new mutators that will shake things up in Challenge Horde Mode:

  • Grenadier – Bombers won’t stop throwing explosives until you take them out.
  • Myopia – Your vision gets blurry after aiming, making precision shooting a nightmare.
  • Plague Creatures – Get ready for poison clouds and random special zombies during waves.
  • Mass Contamination – The Booster infects more zombies, making swarms even harder to handle.
  • Angry Turrets – Your deployed turrets turn on everyone, including you, at the start of each wave!
  • New Class Advantages – Boost health and damage for all eight classes by 50%.
