Magical Girl Special Ops Asuks
This Liden Films animated TV series originates from a manga series which Was first published in June 2015 in Monthly Big Gangan, the manga magazine published by Square Enix. As of January 2018, there are five standalone volumes that have been released in North America published by Seven Seas Entertainment. The series adaptation airing takes place on January 11, 2019.
The main character, Asuka Otori, is trying to lead an ordinary life after the last major battle with the Disas Beasts, alien invaders bent on ravaging the Earth. After some time, the beasts somehow return which forces Magical Girl Rapture Asuka to report back to duty in order to protect what is left of her ordinary life.
The television series adaptation was announced on July 20, 2018 and is directed by Hideyo Yamamoto and animated by Liden Films. Writers include Makoto Fukami and Norimitsu Kaihō, character design by Yoko Suzuki, and music composed by R.O.N.
Magical Girl Special Ops Asuks will premier on Mainichi Broadcasting System and Tokyo Broadcasting System before airing later on BS-TBS, AT-X, Chubu-Nippon Broadcasting.
Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the System
It’s the 22nd century and upholding justice and law in Japan has evolved. Inspectors now use the Sibyl System, an objective means of determining the threat level of each citizen by examining their mental state for signs of criminal intent, known as their Psycho-Pass. The law is imposed, often with lethal force, by subjugating anyone harboring the slightest ill-will. Jaded Inspectors called Enforcers have become latent criminals and are granted relative freedom in exchange for carrying out the Inspectors’ dirty work.
Enter Akane Tsunemori, a young woman with an honest desire to uphold justice and a believer in humanity and order. As she works with veteran Enforcer Shinya Kougami, it’s not long before she discovers that the Sibyl System’s judgments are not as perfect as her fellow Inspectors assume. With everything she has known turned on its head, Akane wrestles with the question of what justice truly is, and whether it can be upheld through the use of a system that may already be corrupt. Soon she faces a criminal mastermind who can elude this “perfect” system which further compromises both Sibyl and herself.

Saga of Tanya the Evil
This upcoming film is based on is a Japanese light novel series written by Carlo Zen and illustrated by Shinobu Shinotsuki.
The story centers on an atheist Japanese white-collar worker whom, while becoming a victim of murder, is confronted by a self-righteous entity he refers to as “Being X”. The entity condemns the man for his disbelief that “Being X” is God. and is sentences him be reborn in a world that is similar to World War I Europe, mixed with early aspects of World War II and magic, in an empire torn apart by countless wars with all nearby countries. The victim is reborn as a young girl, Tanya Degurechaff and given an ultimatum by “Being X” that if she’s not able to die a natural death, or she refuses to have faith in Him, her soul will leave the circle and be sent to hell for the countless sins that Tanya has committed in her previous life. Tanya plans to escape the situation by entering into the Empire’s Mages Division and fighting in the world war. Tanya does this hoping to reach a high enough rank as fast as possible to remain far from the battlefield, and in this way avoid the risk of being killed. Even if she’s now forced to speak with a young girl’s lisp, Tanya soon turns into a ruthless soldier who prioritizes efficiency and her own career over anything else, even the lives of those beneath her, especially those that get on her bad side.

Dororo
Dororo began as manga series from the in the late 1960s and then an anime television series which aired in 1969 consisting of 26 half-hour episodes. The story was also made into a live-action film in 2007.
Hyakkimaru, a rōnin during the Sengoku period, was born an un-named baby, malformed, limbless and without facial features or internal organs due to a pact forged by his father with 48 sealed demons. As an infant he was set adrift in the river and was subsequently found and raised by Dr. Jukai who gave the child prostheses including a special blade grafted into his left arm forged out of vengeance to kill supernatural entities. The boy became nearly invincible as a result of the prostheses and healing magic. During his travels, he earned the name “Hyakkimaru” among other names for his inhuman nature.
The titular and main character Dororo is a young thief who joins Hyakkimaru in his travels and adventures. In the original and animation Dororo was depicted as a boy, but it is clearly revealed in the final story that Dororo is a girl. Her bandit father Hibukuro was wounded by a samurai official and later died. Her mother froze to death while fleeing in the snow, but before she died she drew a map on Dororo’s back to locate money hidden by her father at Bone Cape.

Rising of The Shield Hero
From the manga, Naofumi Iwatani, an uncharismatic otaku who spends his days on games and manga, suddenly finds himself summoned to a parallel universe. He discovers he is one of four heroes equipped with legendary weapons and tasked with saving the world from its prophesied destruction. As the Shield Hero, the weakest of the heroes, all is not as it seems. Naofumi is soon alone, penniless, and betrayed. With no one to turn to, and nowhere to run, he is left with only his shield. Now, Naofumi must rise to become the legendary Shield Hero and save the world.
An anime adaptation was announced in June 2017. The television series is produced by Kinema Citrus and directed by Takao Abo, with Keigo Koyanagi handling series composition, Masahiro Suwa designing the characters and Kevin Penkin composing the music. The series will premiere in January 2019. Crunchyroll will stream the anime.
